Concept/Art direction done while working at Mook – 2007
Global site for the famouse Scotch whisky, taking users on a journey of discovery across the globe, learning about each different whisky in the range as they go.
Creating one concept for the 5 top range whiskies of the Ballantines was a challenge. Taking the user through an elegant parallax presenting the brand’s range within five key scenarios ( a nightclub, al fresco party, golf club, executives member club and an executive’s penthouse suite) makes it a seamless experience. Within the parallax users were invited to explore the individual whiskies, find out about premium bars, create cocktails and upload photos.
Ballantines.com resulted in a stylish combination of product information and user generated content, which succeeded in appealing to the brand’s global, vast target audience ranging from a younger 25 year-old consumer to high-class executives. Launched in a 25 different languages (including Mandarin and Korean), Ballantines.com is a truly global website aiming to support the global marketing, with branded content to generate “buzz and peer referral” – targeting at online users discussing and recommending the drink.
The site was nominated for an Y Design award in 2007.
